The Audi Q7 is a sports utility vehicle with some awesome features to help you get from point A to point B. But have you utilized these hidden features to your advantage? Check out these seven aspects of the Q7 that aren’t as widely known by Q7 owners.

1. Dual Sun Visors

Sun visors

In the Q7, a secondary sun visor resides behind the main visor, which is ideal for when the main visor is being used for shielding sun coming towards the side window.  The main visor can also be extended, providing even more coverage to the driver and passenger.

2. Fan Circulation

When the Q7 is turned off, the fan will continue to run for about 15 minutes if the driver’s climate control “auto” button is pushed.  This is a useful feature for keeping the temperature either cool or warm should you go into a store for a few minutes and want to return to a comfortable interior.

3. Wiper Service Position

There’s a way to place the windshield wipers in the service position, or mid-stroke, in order to clean or replace them yourself. This can be accessed through the service menu, and another way is to turn the car off and hold down the wiper switch in the 1x position. This hidden feature is also useful for lifting the wipers off the glass to prevent them from freezing in icy conditions.

4. Rear hatch Sunshade

The Q7 hatch features a built-in retractable sunshade that provides excellent coverage and privacy and aids the cabin in keeping cool. No need for buying a trunk shade accessory when you’ve got this lightweight one built-in.

5. Battery Location

Battery

You won’t find the battery under the Q7’s hood or in the trunk. It’s actually located underneath the driver seat footwell. Need to jump the battery? Look under the hood near the firewall on the driver’s side for the connection points.

6. Lock Rear HVAC Controls

Want to reclaim full control of the 4-zone ACC? Activate the child locks to lock out the rear HVAC controls for this feature.

7. 360 Degree Camera View

360

Have you grown tired of seeing just the image of your Q7 on the right side of the screen when using the camera? There’s a way to set a 360-degree view as the default instead. With the car parked and camera off, click on the “P” on your dashboard to activate the camera. Once the camera options screen is opened, use the button on the MMI to scroll to ‘View,’ then select “camera” instead of “graphic.” Here’s a quick DIY video of the procedure.
