INGOLSTADT, Germany – Impressive achievement for Audi Magazine: The customer magazine won 14 prizes at this year’s Mercury Awards, one of the world’s most prestigious honors for corporate publishing. This beats the record of last year. With its exacting standards for visual and editorial design, Audi Magazine has established itself as the most successful brand publication in its segment. The new digital edition for the iPad also impressed the Mercury jury. Audi fans the world over confirm the experts’ verdict, as the global circulation of Audi Magazine increased from 8.5 to 9 million last year.

“The secret to the success of Audi Magazine is that we reinvent it for each issue. With our iPad app, we are taking a step further by creating an interactive magazine,” says Lothar Korn, Head of Marketing Communications at AUDI AG. The iPad edition has supplemented the print version of Audi Magazine since late 2010 and is the first app ever to win one of the coveted Mercury Awards in the category “Web Sites/Emerging Media.” The content of the customer magazine is adapted in a user-friendly manner for the iPad app, enhanced with numerous films. On the display of the tablet PC, the visual quality of the articles becomes an even more palpable experience for the user. He can navigate through the chapters and stories with the tap of a finger. In addition to the app, there is also a browser-based version of Audi Magazine, which permits an access on PCs and other digital devices.

Audi Magazine works exclusively with renowned journalists, photographers and designers. The result – wide-ranging topics, a high level of journalism and impressive visual design – is garnering satisfied readers throughout the world. Last year the customer magazine increased its total circulation to roughly nine million.

According to Korn: “500,000 more readers comparing to the year before makes the Audi Magazine one of the most-read customer magazines in the world.” The Audi magazine is published in 25 languages, with stories from around the world and the respective region. Up to four times a year, Audi fans can get a new magazine. Editorial and design support is provided by the Hamburg design agency loved.

The Mercury Awards are presented by an international jury of experts for outstanding achievements of corporate publishing. This year there were 750 entries from 21 countries competing in 20 categories. The entries are judged by more than 100 experts in the fields of design, advertising, marketing and corporate communications.
