Is Your Budget Too Tight for a Real Audi Build? Don’t Worry, LEGO’s New Sets Have You Covered!
Here at AudiWorld, few things make us feel more childish than giving into the temptation of the always amazing toys aisle. Whether HotWheels, die-cast, or in this case LEGOs, we’re always curious about which new Audi goodies have hit the shelves.
Wonder no more, because we recently found ourselves under that exact scenario, and we couldn’t help but bring home this awesome LEGO “Speed Champions” Audi R18 e-tron quattro set. In fact, much to the surprise of other adult shoppers, we were way too excited about finding this at our local store!
This specific set is made up of 166 LEGO pieces, and trust me when we say that you can (and should) ignore the 7-14 age range clearly labeled on the box. This nifty little building set that’s bound to rev your inner kiddo includes a mechanic, a portable fuel rig similar to the one found in the team’s pits, and of course, the R18 race car.
Building it is pretty straight forward and it only took us about 45 minutes to put it together. Despite this being a basic set, and not a Technic model, the level of detail is still pretty amazing. Some of our favorite components include the rear diffuser, the rear wing, and definitely the sleek driver’s canopy.
If you’re more of a sports car fan, LEGO also produces the R8 LMS Ultra that won the Nurburgring ‘s 24 hours in 2014.
