When and where did you purchase this car?

IN MY AUTO JOURNEY, A USED CAR STORE IN COASTAL CT, WHOLESALER BOUGHT IT FOR HIS WIFE, FROM A MAN WHO DOWNSIZED HIS COMPANY AND HAD TO GET SELL IT, WHOLESALER’S WIFE DID NOT WANT IT. THIS WAS TWENTY YEARS AGO.

Why did you choose this car as the basis of your project?

I LOVE THIS CAR AND THE PROJECT IS TO KEEP IT AS STOCK AS POSSIBLE AS THE ABILITY FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS DWINDLE.

Was there anything unique about the car before you starting modifying it?

NO


Did you consider any other brands, and what led you to Audi?

I HAVE OWNED AN AUDI EVER SINCE I FIRST DROVE ONE, WORKING FOR A DEALER RIGHT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL IN 1980

What was your objective with this project?

TO KEEP IT AS STOCK AS POSSIBLE.

TRYING TO FIND A TECHNICIAN WITH THE EXPERIENCE TO REPAIR IT.


What was the most difficult part of the project to get right?

PASSING EMISSIONS FOR THE LAST TIME BEFORE BECOMING EXEMPT.


If you had to do it all over again what would you change?

STORE IT THE FIRST WINTERS THAT I OWNED IT.

Is this your daily driver, and if not what else is in your garage?

NO, DAILY IS A 1984 4000 LTD, I BOUGHT FOR MY MOM IN 1984, SHE STOPPED DRIVING A FEW YEARS BACK AND I HAVE A TRUE LITTLE OLD LADY CAR.

What is your favorite thing about this car?

HOW THE WAY IT MAKES ME FEEL WHEN I DRIVE, JUST THE SAME AS DAY ONE, THE THRILL OF TAKING OFF AND CORNERING AND DRIVING AT 110MPH FEELING SO CONFIDENT AND STILL EXCITED LIKE I WAS 20 YEARS AGO.


As modified, what makes your car unique?

JUST THAT IT IS IN SUCH GOOD SHAPE AND I DO NOT SEE ANY OTHER ONES AROUND, BUT I HAVE TWO.

Where can other enthusiasts see your car?

IN MY DRIVEWAY.
