Sales in January and February 21.4% Up on Last Year

    Audi has sold more than 133,000 vehicles up to the end of February – 21.4 percent more than last year (109,581)*. In February almost 63,500 vehicles were sold, an increase of 15.9 percent on the same month of last year (54,756). Ralph Weyler, AUDI AG Board Member for Marketing and Sales, commented: “We have recorded a significant increase in particular in the Audi A6 and A8 model lines compared with last year. We will further reinforce our presence in the upper market segments with the launch of the Audi Q7.”

    The greatest increase in demand can be seen in the A6 model line. With some 36,300 vehicles sold up to the end of February, the prior-year total (22,131) was bettered by 64 percent. The Audi A8, of which 3,900 have been sold, is around 52 percent above last year’s level (2,575), followed by the Audi A3 with an increase of 24 percent to 38,900 units sold (31,375). 48,000 Audi A4 models were sold, an increase of 8 percent (45,184).

    In terms of regions, the highest growth rates were recorded in Asia, Europe and the Gulf States.
