Video: Huge drift at Le Mans qualifying – by the Audi R8 safety car!

Rain stoppage is never fun for anyone involved with the race, but that doesn’t mean it’s boring all the time. Take for example this video from qualifying today. It was raining very hard, and they were under a red flag. Evidently the safety car was out for sighting laps, and driver Yannick Dalmas, a very good racing driver in his own right, had what you could describe as a “moment”. It’s impossible to say if he didn’t  do it on purpose, but R8s aren’t generally known for snap oversteer.

Either way, it was a very entertaining moment at a time of relative quiet at Le Mans.
