Hi All,
I was driving the other night, had just put my foot down a little then slowed when my engine cut out.... no loud noises or bangs. Now the engine wont start.
head gasket was replaced 1 year ago 65,000km on the clock only! (not sure that can be right)
I have had some problems with the coolant still......it needs topping up every few weeks.
before the breakdown i had just changed the spark plugs and air filter
Plugs were a bit wet when i check them after the breakdown.
cars been a bit lumpy when idling.
Central locking packed up a few days before too!

Trouble is i'm in the Philippines and its hard to trust the mechanics wont rip me off so i'd like to get some feedback as to what anybody thinks could be the problem. Any help would be appreciated!

Does the engine sound normal cranking over? Or does it sound super fast like there is no compression? You would want to check fault codes and also inspect the timing belt for failure.

Wet plugs are not a good sign. Its likely you have a damaged head gasket which is letting oil or coolant into the chamber. Does smoke come out of the exhaust? If so that's also indicative of a blown head gasket.
