2001 Audi TT 1.8T warm idle engine noise
ok, so what I've got going on here is a noise id describe as a knock that occurs
1) Only when the engine is warm
2) Only at idle RPMS under 1k
3) Only when I first start the car when warm (gas station stops) or when I come off of the highway for an extended time
If I am sitting in traffic the only way I can avoid this noise is slightly getting on the gas and raising the RPM to about 1k. Any idea what it might be?

Knock or rattle? If its more like a rattle, Timing chain tensioners will make bad noises and not tension the chain. The bores wear out and more oil pressure from higher rpms will quiet them down. The oil pressure is much higher cold than hot so that would make sense. The tensioner is on the end of the cylinder head, listen and see if the noise is from there.
