Default 2002 1.8t quattro cooling fan on all the time

2002 Quattro 1.8t radiator cooling fan runs as soon as you start the engine in the cold mornings and keeps running long after shutting off engine after driving, it never did this before, its very cold here and the fans obviously shouldn't be coming on in the cold winter mornings on first start ups. What should I check? Is there a radiator fan switch or is there more to it to check out?

Swap out the front temp sensor and check the thermostat. If not-it might be a sensor for the fan.
