Default Help! Overheating and no heat problem!

Been searching for hours and haven't found any thing that worked.

So here it goes...
2000 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8turbo ATW

I've just replaced,
Some vacuum Hoses
Rear coolant flange
Thermostat
(As well as, Clutch and flywheel Cv's Clutch Slave Cylinder Timing belt Timing belt tensioner Oil change Air filter)

So the issue I'm having is that there was not hot air from the heater, so I blew air threw the heater core, and tried bleeding it through the little pin hole and got nothing, tried driving around and nothing it did not over heat either. So I replaced the thermostat because I thought it may be faulty. Now the car over heats and I have coolant and steam coming from the hose that has the pin hole not flow from the other hose. Any ideas on what my next step should be?

Try flushing the heater core-as it might be blocked still. Check all hoses for blockage. Maybe a faulty water pump or heater valve. Worst case a small gasket leak somewhere.

Hi, did you ever get to the bottom of this, mine is kinda similar.

engine gets hot, but no heater, when parked up for a while, heater starts to work, start driving again and heater dies off.......

Ive been through 3 thermostats, with teh third being an audi genuine one.

Its been the same through all three.

Only time it gets any heat out, is when teh radiator starts to get warm.

Its like the water is going teh wrong way when the thermostat opens.
But it cant as its on a kind of seperate circuit.

hey bud, i had the similar problem with this tt i bought….it was a broken impeller on the water pump!! they are a plastic type the can break, sometimes give some flow….not enough for heat….open the coolant bottle, start engine and run up to temp….untill t-stat opens……race the engine, you should see decent flow in the bottle.

i agree with water pump impeller. Sometimes they just come loose on the shaft, and dont spin and other ones just break into pieces.
