Default My Audi wont shift.

One day i was driving my Audi A4 1.8T 2002 (B6) (manual transmission) when my clutch pedal stated feeling really light and i could not shift gears. When i would press the clutch pedal the car still wouldn't let me shift as if its still in gear. When the car is out of gear i'm unable to put in in to gear. However, when the car is off i can easily put it in to any gear. The only way i can get it to move is to put the car in gear when its off and then start it while its in gear, after struggling a bit it will take of but i'm unable to shift afterwards. Pressing the clutch doesn't seem to have any effect, after starting the car in gear pressing the clutch wont stop it from moving.
