Loading suspension/Tighting bolts
I am replacing the top and bottom (both front and rear) control arms as well as the outer tie rods (possibly inner), the CV axles, struts (shocks) and sway bar links.
First question is which of the bolts on those components must be tightened/torqued with the suspension loaded and which can be done prior. Is it only the bolts that attach the upper and lower control arms to the shock housing and sub frame of the car. Can the rest (pinch bolts, sway bar links, cv axles (inner) and lower control arms attached to spindle be torqued to specs prior to loading)?
And what is the best way to load the suspension. I will be doing both sides simultaneously and have the front up on jack stands.
Thanks so much again, appreciated.

Need to know exactly what model Audi you have..if it is a B4..then you must load the suspension prior to tightening the control arms bolts, where they run though the rubber bushings.

When I did my daughters Passat I put large wood blocks under the steering knuckles and let the car down on them. I figured that was as close as possible to the loaded position.
