no one has a digram showing where the coolant temp sensor is located on the 2.0t motor??
It's in the coolant flange on the back of the engine. Do a Google search for "Audi 2.0 coolant flange DIY" and you should be able to find pics. It's in a tight spot but replacing the sensor and its o-ring should be pretty easy. Replacing the whole coolant flange assembly is a bit more involved though.
My brother 2012 Q5 air conditioner suddenly blowing hot air and the temperature gadge went up and down, forum members pointed out that the coolant temperature sensor need replacement & they are right!, took me a while to locate the sensor which according to several forum member it is at the back of the engine, wrong!
Facing the front engine, the sensor is on the right, to locate it is easy as the 2 coolant hose from the radiator connect to the water pump, which is where the sensor is located. The coolant temperature sensor is behind the manifold which has been removed For easier removal, turn the sensor to the position as shown in the picture b4 removing the clip holding the sensor & make sure to replace with a new O ring.
