I'm looking at buying an a4 Avant Quattro. My last audi was an a4 2.8 Quattro (1998 model). I hear these 2.0T models are noted for oil consumption problems from 09-11 for sure. I called 3 local dealers. One was helpful and said it's generally taken care of by audi while the other two were clueless and said its all customer pay.. It sounds like a good dealer will help you out? Anyway I wanted to know if the older 2.0T suffered from the same problem or not? (2007 or 2008) id really like an Audi again but I can't afford to buy one and have the motor torn down at my cost.

I don't know that I can answer your question, but the oil consumption issue is still a concern with '11 and newer model year cars.

A class action law suit was settled about a month ago on all of this and Audi USA is providing some relief and repairs.

Our 2015 Q5 with the 4 cylinder engine seems to have the oil consumption issue under control. It looks like our vehicle consumed about 4oz of oil during the first 5000 miles.

I had the Stage 1 oil fix done to my '11 A4 a few weeks ago and that seems to have gotten the apetite for oil under control.

Ok thanks for that. It seemed that from what I read 09-11 were the worst - or at least most publicized. It also seemed audi was providing some relied on those years. I just wondered if older models were ok or just not publicized as much because of age. Just trying to make an informed decision before I buy a vehicle and get stuck paying $5k in engine repair
