Default Mystery Smoke

Smoke out the tailpipe. Not sure if oil or coolant. Don't appear to be losing either.

Go to do a compression test. When I remove the spark plugs from cylinders 2 and 6 a little bit of smoke wafts out of the hole. Compression checks out fine, all cylinders consistently between 165 and 175.

If compression checks out … can it still be a broken piston ring?

I had this same problem last week with my A-6 2.7 and mechanic diagnosed it as the turbos need to be replaced. My mileage is 196,000 and the smoke is white and coming out of both exhausts. It's oil getting into the intake he said.
Expensive to fix

Turbos appear fine. I used a borescope up the downpipes to check one side for oil. Pulled the inlet pipes to check the other side. Spins freely. No dentist drill. Turbos only have 30k miles since upgrading to K04s.

Having the exhaust off, there seems to be far less smoke coming out of just the downpipes. I must have got something (coolant or oil) dumped into the exhaust.
