So that light came on the other day. Rather annoying since it has become more and more frequent. Anyone with any experience with this sensor? And if so, is it buried in the bottom end of the motor like I'm suspecting? Something for my mechanic to tackle?

if it is the oil level sensor, i believe that is on the bottom of the oil pan, on the front driver side...very easy to get to...you'll have to drain the oil and then change the sensor....

Just changed mine. In my case, the oil temp gauge also did not work.
Had code:


00562 - Sensor for Oil Level/Temperature (G266)
30-00 - Open or Short to Plus


Sensor was around $40 shipped or so.

VERY easy to change (right there on bottom of oil pan, I think 2 10mm sockets), but oil will run out (so either VERY quick swap, or better: do with oil change).

same issue here no temp, but ordered the sensor and will arrive in time for my oil change, looks like a cake walk..

Anyone know what brand name of Oil Level Sensor to stay away from, so are really cheap in price and did not know if those were good quality
