Positive cable and battery terminal getting hot on 2.7t
I have a 2004 a6 2.7t with 140k miles, I don't currently drive it but I start it up and run it to keep it going. Recently I've noticed that the positive battery terminal and cable heats up while the car is running. Doesn't seem to happen except when the engine is running, then it heats up. This happens even with all the extra components off (lights, radio, etc.) I just replaced the battery but it didn't change anything, still gets hot while engine is running. Any suggestions on what I should check to fix the problem?

The first thing you might want to do is show a little patience, secondly a little forum etiquette. Don't go hijacking others threads because you feel that your post has not been answered immediately.
As for your problem with the battery cable, check the obvious things like is the battery terminal clean and secure.
Check the cable for resistance from the battery to the next connection it should be practically 0 ohms
Have you had the health of the battery checked?

I would get a hold of an amp meter from a local auto parts store and see if there's excess current detected. Compare with another like vehicle, that would give you an indication of what's normal current drain. If so, determining the source may be a bit tricky. Someone else here may chime in on that. If current isn't the issue it may just be engine compartment heat soak.
