'06 C6 3.2 coolant level dropping 8-16oz./day.
My coolant reservoir level is dropping, daily, about 8-16oz./day.
I'm not seeing any obvious leaks in the system, just the level dropping.
The car has 157k miles, & uses a qt of mobil1 about every 1500miles.
The only other change that I've noticed with the engine, is that when you cold start the engine, it comes on at about 1500rpm & "hunts" (going to 1500, then dropping a few hundred. Then, coming right back up to 1500)for the first 20 seconds. Then, the idle steps down to a steady 1300rpm for the next minute or two
Then, it finally drops down to 900. It's idling about 700rpm, once it heats up.
I'm hoping this isn't head gasket time.
I have no engine codes up, also.
What's the good guidance on this one?

I've been searching all over, while I run the engine, out in the heat today.
So far, the only leakage that I've found is on the coolant control valve, up behind the engine, on the firewall.
I had pulled it apart, previously, to clean the gummed up plungers in it. It a common maintenance procedure to cure inappropriate heat distribution in the cabin ventilation.
So, on reassembly, I must have created a slight leak.
Another forum member has advocated that once the control valve sticks, it can be temporarily repaired but will need to be replaced. His experience is that it will, ultimately, begin to leak. Apparently, he is right!

As a follow up, the coolant control valve stopped leaking.
However, the lower radiator hose, at it's connection to the water pump, is occassionally leaking. I think a new clamp would seal it but it looks like it's a bear to get at.... :-(
