4.2 B7 questions for a new guy
I'm looking to get into an Audi and in the greatest aspect of my redneck heritage I've came across interest in a nice 2006 with problems. The price seems decent, but the cost to repair ratio might not make things worth it. I'm planning on doing the work myself, I have access to a full shop and my own experience. Plus I like to get intimate with my cars, not much better sense of accomplishment in the world than looking back at a great sounding engine you built/repaired. So, what questions should i ask to try an troubleshoot this car from a distance (5 hour trip).
History of car, that I know: 2006 w/ 66k on the clock, Story is that fuel injector O-Rings caused low compression and blew the motor $9k
The owner doesn't seem like a friendly chap through E-mail, but he did divulge that the motor will idle with lots of blue smoke.
Asside from the obvious questions (oil in coolant, compression results, etc...) What questions can I ask specifically to diagnose this car and know whether rebuilding on my own is worth the trouble.
