Removing 4.2 FSI Rocker Cover
Hi there,
In the process of fixing oil leaks on my 4.2 FSI (in Q7), have inlet off and see oil filler gasket major offender.
While at it want to replace cover gaskets. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to get this plug off! I think its a knock sensor? Any help most appreciated.
Clip on sensor towards back of engine.
Broke the clip trying to remove it like other electrical clips.
Thanks in advance,
Cheers

Sorry to poach, as I do not have your answer. I also have 4.2 FSI. As I recently posted in the A6(C6) forum, I cannot get the intake removed.... I'm stuck. Your pic shows it removed. I have everything removed except the electrical connectors at the front, and it is bound up in the rear by houses that attach to the throttle body. How do I get to the electrical connectors to disconnect them? I have the Bentley manual and it just glosses right over this detail. Thanks for your help!

If your cramped for space at the front of the engine, you may need to put it in service position, ie removing the front bumper and pulling the front clip out

I have an A8 with this same engine and suspect I have an oil leak at filter housing gasket also. Could you provide some insight on the procedure for removing the intake manifold? I can't find a write up on this anywhere.
Thanks
Thanks
