Just got some new Continential DWS 06 tires put on and the dealer set them to 36 psi all around. Loving the handling upgrade over the stock Pirelli P7. Thoughts on tire pressure? I would lean towards the best performance and dealing with a harsher ride if that was the trade off. I typically drive with no cargo and sometimes one passenger. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I recommend reading your car's owners manual for the recommended tire pressures. There are two sets of tire pressures, one for normal load (1 or 2 people) and full load 94 people and bags in trunk). I use tire pressures in between normal and full load recommendations.

Here's a screenshot from the A4 / allroad manual suggesting 30 or 32 psi all around under 'normal' conditions depending on tire type.

Anyone have any feedback from trying out different pressures during a day autocrossing or at the track?

Confusing, the door says 36 all around. Many cars say higher pressures in the front lower on the rears. This says the opposite.

For anyone else interested, I did some testing this weekend and found the following pressures handled the best and prevented the tires from rolling over. Car was completely empty, no spare+compressor, no floor mats, or rear headrests.

Front: 40 psi (when cold; measured up to 46 psi when warm; back at 40 psi once cold)
Rear: 36 psi (rears didn't seem to fluctuate as much as the fronts)

With this setup the car seemed very well balanced in regards to oversteer and understeer. It seems like the page from the Audi manual was on to something regarding the higher pressures up front when using performance tires.

Car: 2014 Audi allroad on 18" Continential DWS 06
