Front license plate

sccooper's photo makes me think the "filler panels" are NOT the entire horizontal bar--just the two rectangular plugs that blank out the holes when no front plate is installed.
That tempts me to try to pop those plugs out and see what I can do to fit an old SAAB bracket I have in the garage. The allroad would make a nice place to show tribute to the 2001 SAAB 9-5 wagon -- one helluva great car, well-balanced combination of comfort and performance, all in a great-looking body.

The part number I was given matches #25 in this picture.

Oh, they would "give" it to me if I "gave" them sufficient cash. Somehow everything costs more with 4 zeros on it. My wife and I both got new cars in December. The "administrative fee" that the Audi dealer collected was twice that collected by her Subaru dealer. "ResistAll" paint protection at Audi, $325. At Subaru, it is already on the car, N/C, when delivered.

Thanks for the information, sounds like there is a relatively inexpensive solution. I think my car has the bracket because if wasn't ordered by my dealer, but obtained by swapping with another dealer (presumably in another state). Maybe there is a similar explanation for Dan's situation. By the way, I also had a (2002) 9-5 wagon.

Our 9-5 wagon is the 3 litre turbo. Spunky little thing for 16 years old!

Still odd to me they did not provide one for fear of you coming back to them with a traffic violation wanting them to pay it off. Usually when I purchase my cars here in TX I request they do not put a front plate bracket on and they make me sign a waiver that they told me it was the law in this state, and they still throw the bracket in the trunk.
