Default bolt from tranny to driveshaft snapped, stuck!

99 2.8 v6 b5
so i finally got to taking the bolts of the tranny, i used a 6 mill hex socket, the first one was not bad at all, did lil huffing and puffing came out nice,
second one started turning, and bolt snapped off? bout 1 inch thread left inside the tranny from driveshaft, like the connector thing dont know whats its called, so i went one to next one, and head on the bolt stripped! same size socket i had it on nice,
now i dont wana even touch the other three yet till i get some answers and those are up top on drive shaft, and hard to reach, btw how do i get em off>? do i turn the driveshaft some?
thanks for any help!

i was thinking if they dont come off, take off the driveshaft from the rear diff, if those wil be easier?
if those are stuck than maybe those big four bolts from the rear diff, split that apart, and try to connect it from there, will it be a huge pain to get the motor/tranny//driveshaft put all back in as one piece?
its a big challange, any tips ideas adive is very much apprecaited!
hope those pics help some

peshkis06, sorry to hear your problems there. I checked on the net for "removing broken bolts" and "removing rounded hex bolts". Here are a couple of links for each problem. Hope one works for you.

The socket head screws have a thread locking compound from the factory.
For rounded out sockets I use Sears tool called something like "bolt out"
which works well. Also buy new OEM screws as they are very high strength and clean the thread holes in the MTX and differential flanges with a tap--that's what the Audi factory manual says to do.

No problem. Here is a link by searching for "how to remove stripped allen bolt".

http://answers.yahoo.com/search/sear...E%3C%2FSPAN%3E

BTW, no pics showed up as you may have seen by now.

Again, good luck. It's easy getting these suggestions, but it's another thing doin' them.

Aren't those bolts correct triple square ?

Torx or allen might not be a good idea with all the rust and the torque that on those suckers.

no they are not triple square i was suprised since i borrowed some of those to get em off and found out they are allen,
but i did some research and found out the if u just grind the head off u will still be able to pop the tranny out of drive shaft since its the head thats holding it in, and no thread on the shaft but only on the tranny, so im lucky in that case id say, and another thing is, i think they were changed before, im not sure, but i would expect it to be triple sqaure and one bolt is missing on the cover that goes underneath it, and that was a triple sqaure
