1998 a4 quattro aha

Trying to do a motor swap dose the motor need to be manual transmission if that's what in the car very new to this and audi as well any help would be awesome

I believe that the crank is the same for automatic or manual..

What engine? If its a 1.8T, the crank is different between auto and manual. You can grind out the center of the crank to accept the pilot bearing. The V6's both have the same crank.
