HI recenlty got 2000 a4 1.6petrol when bought the petrol and temp gauges wer'nt displaying correctly ,but using a cheap vag lead all was ok with tempatur levels when running , clock was taken out to see was any phisal damage on back ,and noticed a date on clock 2002 like a made date ,so by looks things this may not be the correct clock to start with ,



all other gauges were fine and lcd was fine until the cluster was removed then it was refited it worked then stoped , now no rev counter and no speed reading on clock , and also now the lcd is not displaying any pictures or symbls ts goes half orange only for a second then stays red



with a cheap vag lead i cud see the engin revs on laptop

my taught is to maybe get another cluster from a breakers yard on monday , but is ther a possiblity of a bad earth or is ther a voltage regulator anywer that need to be cheched , thats one the reasion it was remoeved in start was to check if voltage regulator was on it
