Default 2000 Audi A4 will not start

I have a Audi A4 2000 that will not start. I have narrowed it down to the clutch, either a safety switch or an relay. I have jumpered the safety switch that is attached to the clutch pedal and I am still getting the message press clutch in to start. So is there an relay I can check? Plus I have read in another thread that the convenience module in the trunk can cause this problem. How do I locate this module in the trunk? I also ran a scan, please let me know if you see something in the codes.

We had a no start, no starter, nothing issue on a 2001 A4 a while ago. I read about 3 common causes, the clutch switch, the convenience module, and the ignition switch. I decided the try the simplest repair first and jumped the clutch switch as you mentioned. The "depress clutch" message still illuminated, but the car started nevertheless. I was lucky. Don't know why that message stays lit with the switch jumped and the clutch depressed, but it starts fine. Starts whether the clutch is depressed or not. Just am sure to be in neutral.

I am concerned about the "17925 - Power Supply Relay for ECU". Could this be your issue?

Otherwise check into the convenience module (I think it is in the trunk area passenger side). I looked when ours did not start and it was dry and not water stained, so I went to the clutch switch.

I am leaning towards the convenience module. There is water in the trunk especially on the passenger side. I was not able to locate the module though.

I am old and have forgotten the details. I believe I had to remove the carpet trim to pull off the plastic along the passenger side. Had to remove the little storage compartment to get to a screw. Pull out that plastic side and the module will be evident.
