Where is the best place to look for a new mass air-flow sensor for my 98 a4 2.8 ?

Take a look at autohausaz, they have Hitachi rebuild units for about $150.

Thanks for the link, its pretty useful, but i think im gonna try to find a salvage unit off ebay first.

For new mass air flow sensors and other air intake and fuel delivery parts you may check out this auto parts store
Or another online auto parts source.

Be very careful of that "pgautoparts" web site. They don't list any address or any phone number, and their prices are too low. There's a good chance they won't be around tomorrow, but they will gladly take your credit card info.

There are two different MAF sensors used on the 98 A4 2.8l V6. One for the 12V AFC engine and another for the 30V AHA code engines. As the MAF is a high failure component that will not always indicate a fault code you won't know if a used MAF is good or not. I would buy a new or rebuilt MAF with a warranty. I have to do this on Monday for my 98 A4 that refuses to idle properly (no DTCs showing).
