I have a 2001 Audi A4 1.8t the AC is not working.

I used a diy freon refill already. No success.

I disconnected the green wire that runs down below along the radiator and to the compressor I jumped tested the feed and it has no voltage. I used a jumper and connected it directly to the battery.

I GOT COLD AIR .

I am assuming it is the climate control unit in the car but could it be a short? My heat works heated seats etc. Fuse is intact....

So I guess my question is it possible for the climate control to work for everything except the AC? I'd hate buy it and replace it for nothing.

You should really have vag com to communicate with the heater controller, it might contain a fault code. If not, you can go through the measuring blocks, and should tell you if its commanding the compressor or not, and if it is keeping the compressor off, it will tell you why with a 0-10 number on one of the measure blocks. Weather it thinks too high or to low of pressure, no rpm signal, overheat condition, ect will all cause the compressor not to come on. Do not just replace the control head, it wont fix it.
