96 1.8t rough idle then dies
Hi everyone new member and first time audi owner. Ive owned my b5 now since October last year and i got about 3 weeks worth of drivng out of it I put it into audi for a service and when I got I back it seemed to be fine. The next day I went for a drive and about 90 kms into the trip I lost all power and it started chugging and running really rough it wouldnt go over 120 kph with foot flat to the floor and it chewed 3/4 a tank of fuel to get back 90 kms. I found a broken pcv hose so I replaced that ive replaced the maf ive replaced air intake hoses with silicone hoses. The n75 valve wasnt there when I bought it a mechanic found it missing and a fuse in the end of the connection for it. So I got a new n75 valve put that in Now when i start it it idles good for bout 10 seconds then starts chugging and 20 - 30 seconds later it just conks out. I have just bought a new fuel pump to go in but found out I require a tool from audi. Now I have a pirate vagcom coming this week just so I can clear what ever codes arre coming up. Can any body please help me I bought this car coz I love these cars and ive barely been able to drive it. Its just running out of rego. The closest audi centre is 90 ks away so I cant even get it to them to look at. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE someone help. Im desperate for answer.

Sounds like it has a huge air leak. Just check all the plumbing hoses to and from intercooler, the cooler itself, tears in the boost hoses, or turbo to air filter hose. Can you keep it running with the throttle? Also throttle body will make real similar symptoms, its the throttle position sensor and idle controller. You really need to check the fault codes and get a better idea what its complaining about.
