I have done some digging and asked around but I have had no luck in finding the answer to my question. The 2.8 has 2 different style cylinders. 1 has an oil line that oils the bearing caps for the camshafts and 1 doesn't. Design and fitment wise other than the oil line and the slightly different exhaust cam bearing cap can one replace the other without issue? I have a 1998 a4 2.8 Quattro AHA. Mine has the cylinder head with the oil line and I have a head that doesn't have this oil line. I plan on doing both heads and want to know if I can swap them out with the heads that don't have the oil line. This is the part number I have for the head that I plan on swapping in. 078103373AH

I've never heard of any differences with oil lines.. I've had AHA and ATQ engines, never seen any internal oiling of the bearing caps.. But then again I never looked specifically. Do you have any photos of what you see as the difference?

I will work on getting some pictures. The funny things is that there is 2 different style heads but I cannot find any info on the model with the oil lines. I have talked to a few different people and they didn't even know what I was talking about until I showed them and they are far from audi novice's. One guy mentioned something about if the oil pumps were the same but in the Bentley it just shows the 2 heads and all the other info is the same for the AHA and ATQ. So the only difference I've ever heard of is a difference in the way the PCV system connects to the valve covers... One way has the long spider hose, the other way has shorter pieces that come off of the VC in a T.. Are you sure that's not what you're looking at?

I have attached to file pic's from the bentely manual. The oil line is circled in red. There is one for the exhaust cam and one for the intake cam.
