Default Is anyone here running the Concert radio system in their A4, but added a subwoofer?

1999 A4 1.8TQMS

I would like to know if I can add just an amplifier and then a subwoofer to that amp safely.

Is it O.K. to add an amplifier to the rear wires in the trunk (of course using a level adjuster to convert to RCA's)

Is this signal to be "caught" before or after the rear right amplifier that is surrounding the speaker?

Thanks!

I am not a hundred percent sure, but the car shop I go to said that in the 98-99 Audi A4's there are factory RCA Pre-outs on the back of the stock radio. Hope this helps. Might want to double check me.

Default I added a sub to my concert deck.

I got a 12" Infinity, 300W USAccoustics and a sealed box from Crutchfield. It was 3 days of work but it sounds great.

I cut a patch cord and connected it to the pre-amp outputs of the concert deck. First I moved the rear speakers to the front pre-amp then connected the sub to the rear pre-amps. This makes the fader a sub level control.

I shied away from a line level converter on the rear speaker wires. Running the patch cord under the door molding was easy.

I'd be happy to share more detail if you want.

Default I have a 180x1 Rockford Fosgate and a 12" Alumapro in a ...

very small enclosure, and it was so boomy, even with the bass at -6, that I had to have a level **** put in. Even after that, I had to turn the woofer to face the back seat and now I can use the bass at 0 and the level **** about halfway. The input for the amp was taken from the back of the stereo, on the high output side (not the low that goes to the rear spkrs, it was too low)

It sounds decent, but nothing out of the ordinary. It helps a lot on the bass, where it definetly needed help.
