Boost gauge in ashtray (prefacelift)
Anyone done it?
I'm thinking about drilling a hole in the face of it, and installing the gauge there. Looks like there should be plenty of room.

The easiest hack is putting it in one of the center air vents. Pull the air vents out, drill a small hole in the back corner, and then you can feed the boost gauge line through the engine wall and to the manifold. Running in the ash tray will be harder to get the vac line run.

Here we go. Tapped into the lighter light wiring, so it even dims with the rest of the lights.
A vent install would have been easier, but I did not want to molest them. In hindsight, the gauge would have been easier to see there.
