ERROR 3 (ERR3) - Mechanical Malfunction In the CD Player
Causes:
- Homemade CD
- Labels
- Cracked, chipped, or damaged CD
- Non-Standard (shape or size) CD
- CDs with rough edges (burns)
Possible solutions:
- Try removing CD.
- If CD removal is not possible, replace radio.

I get this error sometimes when I try to change the CD's too fast. Solution....
I have the 6 disk CD changer in the trunk, and all I have to do to fix the Error CD 1, 2, 3, etc. is remove the CD holder from the changer itself, and put it back in.

not necessarily...
are all your CDs in the holder? If not, that's your issue... one is jammed in the unit. You'll have to tear it apart to get it out, but it's do-able. I've done it in the past.

you sure all your CDs are out after you pulled the cartridge?
simply unplugging the CD player and replugging it in will clear the error code as long as there's nothing wrong with the actual player.
