1998 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro. My speedometer doesn't work. It just sometimes randomly works for a second, tells me how fast I'm going, then goes back down to zero. Anyone know what the problem is and how I can fix it?

Sorry to see you have another issue with your car Matt. I did a quick search using the key word "transmission" and quite a few posts came up. I read through a few and thought this one would give you an idea where to start. Although it covers a different year, usually the basics are the same. Look at post #4. The idea is to make sure each end of the speedo cable turns freely and is not seized.
