A4 2.8 diagnosis help needed
Car is very hard to start and when it does start, chugs badly and blows white smoke like an insect fogging machine. If I slowly bring the revs up it will clear itself out and have normal exhaust and no missing. This is usually above 2500 rpm. As soon as I let the rpm's drop it starts all over again and will not hold an idle. There does not seem to be any unusual mechanical noises when this is happening. Could all this be caused by the purge valve?

First find out what's blowing out the exhaust; fuel, oil, or coolant. You should be able to ID which it is by smell, but also pull the spark plugs (all six) and see if they all look the same. Do that and report what you find.

Vendors can post this stuff here. Usually they use some restraint and attempt to either contribute to the forum or at least post relevant content. Shameless shilling is obnoxious. Needless to say, I will avoid using Alldata and would urge you all to do the same.
