driveshaft support bearing "fix"
Hello every one
i have a messed up Center drive shaft support bearing i saw on a site that a guy used window weld took the heat shield off and more or less just filled in the bearing with window weld he said this worked fine and held for 3+ years and still going strong but it seams a little sketchy is a word for it i mean if it doesn't work i have to buy a whole new drive shaft any way but has any one tried this or know if it might hold. any input is greatly appreciated thank

Chiming in 5 months later....
I'm thinking of trying this out also. Worst case scenario, I buy a center support bearing for $100, and fix it properly. No need for a whole new driveshaft.
Anyone know how much deflection is normal for the center support bearing?
It's rubber mounted, so it should deflect some....

I replaced the bearing with the offering from 034 and it's wonderful. I had heard some reports on it causing an imbalance but I marked the orientation of the shaft so that I could be very confident that the splines went back together as they came apart. It was an involving job but pretty simple from a standard tools point of view. I could have pulled the old bearing off with a puller but instead cut through most of the old one and ripped it off and hammer/pressed the new one on.
The most dificult part of the job was man handling the exhaust back into posistion. I'm very satisfied to not pay someone $800 for that job instead I paid $100 for the part and my time (4 hours).
