Gauge Cluster swap question

Gauge Cluster swap question
Hey guys
New to the forums and new to b5s. I've mostly dealt with b and c 2 3 and 4s. So I have a quick question about my instrument cluster. It's seems to be commong for the LCD to blow out and mine most certainly has. I have a cluster from a c5 A6 which I'm told is compatible with the b5s. Swapping them out is pretty easy but the question is will I have to reprogram anything? I couldn't care less about retaining any info from the old one if that helps. It seems that the compatibility issue might come from the fact I don't know if the c5 that i pull this dash from had an immobilizer or not. My vehicle does not. Anyone have any thoughts? I've seen a lot of conflicting info so I wanted to make my own thread.
