Default Gearbox query

I have a 1996 audi quattro A4 1.8 20v. It jumps out of second gear. Before I dismantle it for repair I was wondering if this one will fit Audi Quattro 1983 G/box & Diff | Trade Me
Its froma 2200cc 1983 model type 85,,the gear ratios are different but the final drive is the same.

There used to be a site called Audi 01e or do a search on that, it had info on all Audi trannys, very detailed info.. FWIW I put a 6 sp. tranny from a Audi RS2 in my 97 A4 with a 4 banger in altho its not 1.8 anymore. The box (rs2) bolts right up, but I also used a matching Sach racing PP and Clutch. You should speak to someone familiar with Audi clutches, but I truly beleive the cases for the 5 cylinder Audis also fit the 4 banger almost perfectly. If you have worked with both you will see the similarity, 5 banger just has 1 more cylinder (or in this case 4 banger has 1 less) - please be sure and check this out but I know it worked on my car, but my car is nothing stock.
