Default Is it just me, or does everybody here steer clear of Hondas and Buicks?

Every time I come up on a Honda, I gotta pass it. The people that drive these cars can't...drive that is. A Honda is bought for it's utility and longevity. A Civic or Accord is DEFINATELY NOT a drivers car. My shower has a more appealing interior than these cars do! Came up on a Civic coming in to work this morning...clueless lady, both sunvisors down, both hands clenching wheel, doe in the headlights look on her face. She cuts off the pickup to my right as she changes lanes sans blinker (this is a pet-peeve of mine: blinker use, or lack of...it seems people have forgotten what they are used for these days). Anyway, lady swerves in front of truck, he honks, she reels her head around (guess she forgot what that mirror looking thing on the windshield is for) and almost runs onto the curb, sees that pissed off F-250 driver and swerves back in front of me just missing my front bumper. Thankfully my turnoff was just ahead, so I had no opportunity to give her the one-finger greeting.

I see this type of stuff all the time with those clueless Honda owners. Buicks, on the same hand, I just steer clear of. They are usually piloted by someone over 80 and under 5 feet tall wearing those hideous plastic eye shades that fit over bifocals. These old folks should not be on the road, and often appear they think they aren't. Rather they think they are sitting in an easy-chair in front of the TV back at the home. Sorry to be old-fart bashing, but they are pure danger behind the wheel. I know my grandma would never be able to swerve her Volvo out of the way of some little kid chasing his soccer ball into the street.

Hmm...can you say road rage? I've got the bug. Why can't Audi make these things with thermonuclear flamethrowers on the hood and an oil slick/smokescreen option?

Oh yeah, use your turn signals on the highway! I want to know you're going to try to run me off the road before you actually do it.

Done for now...and still hungover from the $2 Guiness' last night.
Cy...Pearl '97 1.8TQMS, APRv3.1, Neuspeed, H&R Sport, Neuspeed/Bilstein, AEZ Bimos, AVS Sports, ATE Powerdisc, Mintex, Valvoline SynPower, Mobil 1, Autometer, K&N, Air Box Mod.

Default I try to stay clear of everyone...

I feel your pain. I don't think it is just owners of specific cars though. I don't trust anyone on the road. I have found that good defensive driving is a huge asset.
I do like the flamethrower idea. I had an idea of something like a lighthouse light on the back of your car so that when someone pisses you off, you get in front of them and cut on the light. Effectively blinding them and sending them to their death as they swerve and lose control.

Have a nice day!

Default Hey, I try to find the Hondas, motorcycles that is, ;0)!!

You are right about the interiors though, I hate the interiors of the "buicks" and Honda's, Eurpean styling is much nicer/sleeker.

Default Was following an 84 GTI back in the day and..

was ******* the guy coming home from a party. Well, he must have had some type of switch set up, b/c his reverse lights lit up BRIGHT doing 50mph and he took off. I think older manual Volvos with the lift-for-reverse could do this also.
Cy...Pearl '97 1.8TQMS, APRv3.1, Neuspeed, H&R Sport, Neuspeed/Bilstein, AEZ Bimos, AVS Sports, ATE Powerdisc, Mintex, Valvoline SynPower, Mobil 1, Autometer, K&N, Air Box Mod.

Default Also depends on location...

In central CT we get a ton of the retired folk in their 300HP Northstar 32-valve V8 Caddilacs that must not have enough leg strenght to press the damn throttle past 1/4 input. These beasts just take up the whole road as the cluelessly meander around town. Also Buicks and those 1980 and early 90 Olds Cierra's. What pieces of crap. My mother-in-law has one and I had to drive her home one day. That is the most unsafe car I was ever in. No kind of steering control, felt like it was going to fly off the road at 60MPH. I could not keep the thing centered in the lane. I told her get a new car but she claims she "loves" that car. Oh well just ranting while waiting for a customer call.

Default Used an actual spotlight once!!

I had a spot light that I used sometimes 800,000 candlelight baby!!People would actually pull over thinking I was a cop......Now there's a pic, and undercover cop in a 1987 4000 Quattro.
Also on my UR Quattro I had a pair of Hella 1000's that were really bright sooo bright you could see inside the whole car and the guy squinting in his rear-view. Boy did it suck to cut me off!! With allr lights on that car,2 fogs,2 hellas, seperate hi's(2) and low's(2), and 4 running lights you could practically land planes!
