Default just saw a jaguar X-type commercial and they claim they are the only car with standard AWD in it's
class. What gives? A8?

Default I think the X-type's class is more along that of the A4 and 3 series...
I think it's in the high $20k price range

Default Yup... mid $20K starting to low $30K range.
They're built off the European Mondeo platform and use the Mondeo's running gear for all wheel drive. You can thank the Ford acquisition of Jaguar for this vehicle.

Check out Edmunds review of this vehicle. The exhaust system fell apart during testing. Again, a testament that Quality is NOT Job 1 at Ford. (Don't even get me started on my old SVT Contour...)

Tis built on a Mondeo floor pan. Mondeos are alot cheaper tho

Yeah Tim Robbins drove one in Arlington road. still a heap of crap. the new one is alot better
