Looking for volunteers for a friend's Bluetooth/Audi project
Hey.
A couple friends of mine, both electrical engineers, are starting a company developing products for integrating accessories (like the Parrot Bluetooth phone kit) into Audis and BMWs.
They've got BMW kits already made, and now they're working on Audis. They've found out some interesting things about Audis that might make them extremely good candidates for their kits:
1) They found that some Audis have microphones already built in (mounted in the A-pillar or near the sunroof controls):
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/38531/98_a4_microphone.jpg">
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/38531/04_allroad_microphone.jpg">
2) They found that some Audis also have an ethernet-type connector somewhere in the e-brake/armrest area:

3) They found that some Audis also have a 25-pin serial connector in the trunk (where the CD-changer goes):
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/38531/98_a4_25-pin_connector.jpg">
What they need to know is which Audis have these three things (microphone built in, ethernet connector near the armrest, and 25-pin connector in trunk).
Would anyone like to volunteer and check their car for these 3 things and then post what year and model you have and which of the 3 things you found?
Does anyone have definitive manufacturer's information that might tell whether, for example, all A4's after 1998 have 25-pin connectors in the trunk? Or any info like that?
They'd also like to get an idea of how many people might be interested in buying a kit to seamlessly integrate a bluetooth phone into their Audis.
Thanks in advance for any help!

That 25-pin connector might still be there, even without a
CD changer. It's not actually used for the CD-changer, it's just located in the same place the CD-changer usually is (back behind the driver's-side storage panel in the trunk).
