Metal Belly Guard and Oil Temparature
Due to the deep snow, I decided I needed a belly pan to reduce drag in deep snow and protect me from ice and broken chunks of Michigan roads. I couldn't find an oem one and I've seen metal ones online. So I made one out of an old A4 hood I had with the oem dimensions. It turned out really nice, looks really good. In winter, my cars oil temp is right between the 1st and 2nd peg. Now it's just past the second peg. Is this normal? At what peg should I worry? Thanks.

Well you have checked your oil level right. Oil alone does 30% of the cooling of the engine so if its low it will get hotter. Its still in a safe zone and should be just fine. Oil running hot is good, helps boil impurities and moisture out of the oil so it lubricates longer. I would think getting close to 300F is where you would get real worried but if that happened the coolant temp would be extremely high also.
