Default Motorola kit for StarTAC 7760A4 (from Mot)

Dear Mr. Gray Jr.:
Thank you for your recent correspondence with Motorola. It is always a pleasure hearing from our customers.
The Motorola StarTAC 7760 CDMA/AMPS requires it's own handsfree kit. Previous kits for the other cellular phones can not be adapted to the StarTAC, at this time. We do not manufacture a cable that provides compatibility.
I trust this information will prove useful to you. If you have further questions or comments, please contact our Cellular Information Center at 1-800-331-6456. Our business hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM CST. On behalf of Motorola, we appreciate your business and look forward to serving you.
Sincerely,
Carrie Hiller
Motorola, Inc.

On Mon Feb 1 14:57:00 1999, Patrick Gray, Jr. patrick@harvassoc.com wrote:
>Your first name: Patrick
>Your last name: Gray, Jr.
>E-mail: patrick@harvassoc.com
>
>I have a StarTac 7760 CDMA/AMPS phone, and was wondering if it can be integrated with the Motorola pre-wiring in the Audi A4. Is there a module or some kind of accessory available from Motorola that I can use to interface this phone with the prewiring, or can the handsfree package be integrated with the vehicle's prewiring?
>
>Thanks!
>
>Pat Gray

--
Motorola, INC
Cellular Subscriber Sector
600 North US Hwy 45
Libertyville, IL 60048
Tel800) 331-6456
Tel847) 523-4206
Fax800) 992-6456

Default Good luck... your not going to get a kit for the StarTAC Digital....

Did you see the kit for it, it's some cheap thing that plugs into the cig lighter. The only way your going to do it is to build your own kit. Check the archives for 'chicago a4 club' A guy named Dave built a kit for his StarTac from scratch. It's really cool, but involves some heavy duty electronics. Motorola is going to be no help to you.
Brad Bilut, 98.5 A4 2.8Qtip (integrated Nokia 6160)

Default Nonsense!, I have StarTac digital hands-free kit installed.......

Kit costs approx $199, & Bell Atlantic charged only $25 to send installer to my office to install on-site. It is hard-wired, (NOT plug-in to cig lighter), has mic & speaker (hidden), & external antenna. It is not connected to Audi pre-wired system.
