Mysterious P1141 code reolved - 98 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8
I will try to keep this short but I have read through a ton of post regarding this code. Many of us have spent lots of money chasing the cause of this code including myself. Typically with this code we all go directly to the MAF but whe the implausible cross reference continues we also continue with trouble shooting. Needless to say, after replacing the MAF, all O2 sensors, fuel pressure regulator and even catalytic converts/down pipes (Magnaflow) and still have the "Implausible Cross Reference" code I was a completely dumbfounded.
I read about the ohm resistance on some connectors which mine were just fine. So, as I starred at the connector I had one last trick that now hind site, I should of tried. Went and pulled out my tube of dialitc grease ($6.99/tube), put a small dab into each female socket on the connector, reconnected and go figure, problemed solved.
Prior to this, I would receieve the P1141 code immediately upon clearing the code no matter what part I replaced. Of course I now have very little hair but once I put a dab of dialitc grease into the female socekets (3 sockets) the code immediately went away! Is this the true fix for this code possibly but there are other causes which we well know but hope we never have to do. The bright side of this is I have all new O2 sensors, a new exhaust system (stainless) including catalytic convertors(stainless), fuel pressure regulator and now no savings account (LoL). So, when you are faced with the P1141 code (Impluasible Cross Reference), yes, its likely your MAF but before proceeding replacing take a dab of dialetic grease "FIRST", reinstall, clear code, if code "immdeiately comes back then you may proceed to replace parts as described.
