Need help regarding purchasing a 2001 Audi A4
I am looking to buy an Audi. It is a used one i saw on craigslist. It is a 2001 Audi A4 2.8L V6 AWD Quattro. It has 140K miles on it. 6 speed manual transmission- put for sale for 3000$ by the owner. He says no problems with it till now and he's used it for basic commuting.
Can I trust on him and take it or do I have to take the car to a mechanic? If so, a normal mechanic or an Audi specialist?
I am a student and hence worried about the maintenance. Im not worried about the mpg but is it expensive to maintain?
What will be the basic requirements and how much would it cost for them?

If you just believe the seller... I have a bridge you will love! Take it to an independent Audi shop and have it inspected. Ask the owner to show you records of his repairs and maintenance. Specifically you need to know when the timing belt service was done.
Audi A4 is a reliable car but service and maintenance is more costly than a less sophisticated vehicle. Only realistic that it is.

Not the best car for a student IMHO, maintenance is very expensive unless you can DIY.
