I've recently purchased a 1999 Audi A4 1.8. The car is in great condition and has travelled less than 140,000kms. A few days after owning the car I found a random cable with an 18pin connector hidden under a plastic panel in the engine bay (Pictures are below). I've done some research and can't figure out what this cable is for! It also has a brown wire attached along side it which appears to be an earth cable (most likely DIY). Hopefully someone on here will be able to help me out. Thanks in advance.
The cable was hidden under the black plastic panel, top right.
