Default Oil Light STILL on After Engine Swap

My 1998 Audi A4 1.8t (147k) engine had went out so I bought a used engine (85k miles) off eBay and had the engine swapped. It took 2 long months to get my car back and when I finally received it, when pulling off the lot the oil light became flashing and beeping..what could be the problem guys?!!!!

Also it was a lot of pressure in the coolant cap and coolant everywhere when I popped the hood ..what could be the problem guys?!!!!

Could be sending unit, could be low level sender, etc. The first thing is to connect a manual gauge to verify pressure is within acceptable range, and then troubleshoot from there. Your first engine, did it actually blow up? Or just had the same oil light on?

Yes. A manual gauge can be connected in place of the oil pressure sending unit (the low oil level sensor is different and located in the oil pan itself), you just need the fittings to adapt to the manual gauges feed line. Then you can see accurately what the pressure is and compare to what the stock gauge says.

Any autoparts store for cheap. Here is an example:

https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-SP0F000...3477098&sr=1-3

Kit with fittings to adapt:

Search YouTube to see, but I have not seen any. You can find the location of the stock oil pressure sending unit by asking others here with your same model and engine that are familiar, and then simply unplug it, unscrew it, and the install kit I showed should have most fittings that would allow you to screw in an adaptor, and then attache the gauge line to it.

Good luck!!
