How do you know?
Speedometers can be off at high speeds, and your car is governed to 130 mph, and your car has H rated (130 mph) tires (assuming you have not upgraded)- if you were really going this fast (maybe going downhill?) you probably shouldn't do it again - the sidewall of those tires are not meant to withstand such high speeds.

Actually, a '00 1.8T sport comes with Z-rated Dunlop sp8000's, good up to 149mph+...
But your speedo may indeed be giving you false readings at that high a speed. The stock top speed limiter is supposed to be 130mph.<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=2361">
