Need to replace left-drivers side rear axle. Manual notes removal of exhaust and would like feed back of someone that has done job= does the exhaust need removing or can it be done without? Any help is appreciated. Did post question on other forum. Thanks.

I have never had to mess with the exhaust. Just remove the sway bar link to the knuckle, and the big bolt on the upper control arm, and it gives you enough room to remove it, and then the bolts at the diff are wide open, and they just pull right out.When your replacing the axle, would be a good idea to get the output seal there, just remove the bolt in the center of the flange, and pull off the flange, and put in a new seal. They are known to leak as you get into higher miles.
