Removing the turbo... How to access the underneath bolt on the cat side?
Greetings.... 16 1/2 years and 140k miles later, I finally need to replace my leaky turbo....I've been reading and searching that this can be done without removing the front end.
I just have one quick question for folks that have done this...
How do I remove this bolt underneath on the cat side shown as the red dot here:
I've managed to break free 4 of the 5 bolts (I was worried they would have been a PITA to remove, but I've managed to get them loosened without too much trouble...)...But this one underneath, I can't seem to use a normal wrench since it hits the beaml a few inches next to it..Also, I can't seem to stick a small socket there, since the cat bends down. If I try to use a ratchet, it hits the bottom of the cat.. I've also tried going from underneath the car, but the heat shield is blocking it, and there's too much other interference, so it seems like the only way is from the top.
Any suggestions, wise people?
Thanks!

Never mind.
Yesterday, I picked up these tools from Harbor Freight for $13, using a 20% off coupon (also picked up a LED flashlight freebie)...
Worked like a champ.....
And so.....
